Timing chain duplex, different dimensions - Fulvia all

from €69.00

Product no.: HRW-01-0569

Description

Duplex timing chain for all Fulvia models (according to menu).
The Fulvia models require chains as follows:

  • Fulvia 1st series: 6 mm Ø rollers
  • Fulvia 2nd series: 5 mm Ø rollers
  • 1.2 and 1.3 L models: 116 links
  • 1.6 L HF models: 118 links - due to higher engine block

(Please measure before ordering!)

We use ELITE brand chains Made in Germany. ELITE roller chains have a high wear resistance and significantly higher fatigue strength than the standard requires.

Technical data
Background: The duplex chain of the Fulvia must always run tight. For this, the oil pressure operated chain tensioner must be regularly maintained to prevent the chain from swinging in the direction of bending ("whipping"). The tension rails are to be replaced after about 120,000 km. If the mechanism fails, the chain may skip, causing the pistons to collide with the valves, resulting in engine failure. // The life of the timing chain depends heavily on the operating conditions and the maintenance of its tension and guide elements. The wear of a timing chain causes a change in engine timing - the timing chain becomes longer as the rollers and links wear. The engine runs restless with heavily worn timing chain, since the charge cycle is offset in time. In a very worn chain, the pitch is no longer consistent with the gears. The rollers then run during operation on the teeth and cause in addition to a louder noise and a strong wear on the gears.
